"I believe the Senate is broken — that is not news to anyone. The good news is that it can be fixed, and I intend to play a major role in fixing it," Sen. John Cornyn said.
The Capitol attending physician said Thursday Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is "medically clear to continue with his schedule." The statement came a day after McConnell appeared to freeze during an exchange with reporters in Kentucky. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane reports.
"There's no doubt that this bill is saving lives," Sen. Chris Murphy said about the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which President Biden signed into law one year ago.
The visit is his first to the U.S.-Mexico border as president.
